Windfloat: generating wind power on the Sea

The MiniFloat platform has been adapted to support large wind turbines with up to 10MW of renewable power production per unit.
WindFloat: A wind turbine on the MiniFloat

WindFloat is designed to produce renewable electrical power in areas where water depth exceeds 50m, which includes many coastal areas near large urban centers, and areas where proximity to the shore is inconvenient.
The technology has been sold to Principle Power for the commercialization of green electricity. Principle Power is planning on deploying the WindFloat technology worldwide, and is already actively pursuing projects in Portugal, Oregon and Maine.
Per the contractual agreements, MI&T is still significantly involved in the project, doing all the design work and necessary engineering.
